Director’s Report – Cherokee Charter Academy
As we move deeper into the school year, I want to share several exciting updates and celebrations from across our campus. Cherokee Charter Academy continues to shine, and the momentum we are experiencing, both academically and culturally, as well as in community interest, is stronger than ever.
SC School Report Card – Continued Academic Excellence
We are incredibly proud to share that CCA remains the highest-performing middle school in the entire Cherokee County School District. This is a tremendous accomplishment and a testament to the hard work of our students, teachers, and staff. In addition, our elementary school made significant gains this year. CCA is now ranked as the second-highest performing elementary school in the district, climbing from #5 last year. We also rank among the top-performing schools in the entire Erskine Network. These results reflect the strong academic foundation evident in every classroom, including engaged students, rigorous instruction, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Open Enrollment – A Critical Time for Families
Open Enrollment for the 2025–26 school year is quickly approaching, and this is a crucial period for our current families. Families will soon have the opportunity to secure their child’s seat for next year. This step is crucial, as interest in CCA continues to grow, with several grade levels already experiencing waitlists. We anticipate expanded waitlists as Open Enrollment begins. If you are a current family, please be on the lookout for communication regarding the Returning Student Intent to Enroll process. Completing this early ensures your child’s seat is saved before new applicants are considered. We will also host Open Houses and attend community events to introduce new families to what makes CCA special.
Tutelage Fall Leadership Retreat
This month, members of our leadership team attended the Tutelage Fall Leadership Retreat, where we spent focused time analyzing school data, reviewing instructional practices, and planning ahead for long-term school improvement. This retreat allowed us to collaborate with leaders from across the network, share effective strategies, and deepen our commitment to academic excellence. We returned energized, with a renewed focus on supporting our teachers and advancing student achievement.
Monster Mash – A Community Favorite
Our Monster Mash event was another huge success this year! The turnout was incredible, and it was wonderful to see our families, students, and staff enjoying such a fun, festive evening together. CCA continues to foster strong school traditions that unite our community and create lasting memories for our students.
Veterans Day Breakfast – Honoring Heroes
Our annual Veterans Day Breakfast remains one of the most meaningful events we host each year. This year was exceptional. Our students did a fantastic job leading songs, greeting guests, and demonstrating genuine respect for the veterans in attendance. Events like this strongly reinforce our mission of helping shape the next generation of informed, respectful American citizens.
Closing Thoughts
Cherokee Charter Academy continues to grow, thrive, and strengthen its position as a top-performing school of choice in our region. We are incredibly proud of our students ' achievements, our teachers’ dedication, and the support of our families and community partners. Thank you for your continued trust in us. We look forward to finishing the semester strong and welcoming new and returning families during our upcoming enrollment season.
